Acoustic Wave Therapy for Cellulite
The use of Acoustic waves or “shock waves” is the first therapy approved by Health Canada for the treatment of cellulite. Acoustic wave therapy treats cellulite by mechanically vibrating connective tissue in affected areas of the body. This improves the skin’s appearance by causing the connective tissue to stretch which improves its elasticity. Treatments are usually performed twice per week for a total of 6 treatments. The effects are seen to improve over the next 3 months and are maintained long term if a healthy diet and exercise program is followed. Areas that can be safely treated are the thighs (backs, front, sides or inner thighs), the buttocks or the upper arms. Contact us for a Free Consultation.
Airgent is a novel skin remodeling system that has been used in Europe since 2007 and was approved by Health Canada in 2008. The name “Airgent” is being changed to” Enerjet”by the European manufacturers. Airgent treatments improve the appearance of scars, wrinkles, stretchmarks and sagging of the skin. Airgent treatments are especially useful to improve the appearance of acne scars, fine wrinkling of the cheeks, upper lip lines (“smoker’s lines”) and sagging of the jawline (jowls) . A new technique using the Airgent machine that we have introduced is the non-surgical face lift which improves forehead lines, nasolabial folds and the contour of the jawline, lifting the corners of the mouth and diminishing “jowls”. This technology works with the natural healing mechanisms of the skin to stimulate the fibroblast skin cells to produce new collagen and elastin, the protein responsible for maintaining elasticity of the skin. The machine functions as a fancy “air gun” that delivers droplets of solution into the dermal layer of skin under pressure. This raises a temporary raised area of the skin that subsides over a few minutes leaving only small red entry points. These disappear after a few days and can be easily covered with makeup. The pressure stimulus on the fibroblasts is what causes them to start the rejuvenation process. Results can be seen immediately, but the full rejuvenation process can take up to 6 months to complete. Usually a hyaluronic acid solution is used in the Airgent treatments, but any mesotherapy solution may be introduced into the skin using this technology. The results obtained from skin remodeling using Airgent are natural looking and are permanent. Botox has been safely used for more than twenty years in clinical and cosmetic medicine. Botox is injected into selected muscles and works by inducing temporary relaxing of these muscles. It does not affect sensation. Botox is used cosmetically to soften dynamic wrinkling of the skin; i.e. those wrinkles caused by muscle action. The common areas treated by Botox are the frown lines between the eyebrows, the furrows in the forehead, “crow’s feet” around the eyes and lines in the upper lip. SkinMaster System – Dermabrasion
The SkinMaster skin rejuvenation system utilizes a dull, flat metal spatula emitting high-speed, low -frequency ultrasound vibrations, for the safe and effective exfoliation of the skin. This technology is not only utilized for exfoliation, but is also used for moisturizing, clearing, and circulation treatments. It is a particle free technology that provides a gentle, non-invasive solution to help diminish:

Oxygen and hydration rejuvenate damaged and aging skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are directly treated with micro current to increases the production of collagen and elastin. Your skin is left smooth and younger looking. The SkinMaster Circulation Treatment dramatically increases blood flow to the skin surface to facilitate skin nourishment and cell renewal by bringing moisture to the deepest skin layers.
Juvederm is a naturally occurring gel substance called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a component in subcutaneous tissues and maintains hydration and plumpness of the skin. The quantities in the skin decrease as we mature. Juvederm is injected just under the skin to restore fullness and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is used cosmetically to add volume to the lips and recontour the mouth. It can be used to soften circles under the eyes, and to soften the nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth). Typically the product gives results that last six to nine months after injection. Contact us for a Free Consultation For more information visit: www.juvederm.com
Tripollar RF Skin Tightening System
Tripollar is a novel radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening and fat shrinking system approved by Health Canada. The Tripollar system induces focused heating of the fat layer of the skin, increasing the natural fat metabolism and leading to the reduction in the size of fat cells. Usually there is no “downtime” and the skin looks radiant after treatment. Best results are seen with multiple treatments which produce an additive effect. Typically 6 to 8 treatments would be performed, each 1 to 2 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments can then be considered every 3 months. We have recently acquired the trifractional handpiece for the tripollar platform. This allows delivery of potent radiofrequency energy deeper into the dermis, allowing effective remodeling and thickening of the skin. The trifractional system is especially useful to treat thin, wrinkling skin around and under the eyes for a more youthful appearance. There may be mild swelling and redness of the skin for a day or so after the treatment. Combining the regular tripollar with the trifractional handpiece can reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and “bags” under the eyes. This is one of the best treatments for these common and troublesome concerns of the eye area. Contact us for a Free Consultation For more information visit: www.tripollar.ca
